Jacklyn Parker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Kearney on Jan. 5, 2026.
Jacklyn "Jackie" Parker, 72, of Kingston, Missouri, passed away on January 4, 2026. She was born on November 8, 1953, in Marceline, Missouri, to Billy Jack Edwards and Larna (Eaton) Edwards-Herron.
Jackie married Timothy O'Brien shortly after graduating high school, and together they welcomed two sons, Shamus and Justin. After their divorce, she later found love again and married Gary Parker in 1988. With Gary, she completed her family with the birth of their daughter, Amber.
A dedicated public servant, Jackie spent her entire professional life as a dispatcher. Her calm presence, steady voice, and unwavering commitment made her a lifeline for countless individuals and families over the years. Her service extended far beyond her career-Jackie was deeply involved in Marine Moms and was a passionate supporter of the United States military and law enforcement. Her pride, patriotism, and generosity touched many lives.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Richard Edwards; her nephew, Samuel Edwards; her brothers in law Harold Parker and Robert Hall; her former husband, Timothy O'Brien; her former mother in law, Lois Mary O'Brien; and her mother in law and father in law, Delphia Parker and Harold Parker.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Parker of Lathrop, Missouri; her brother, John Edwards of Tucson, Arizona; her children, Shamus (Billie) O'Brien of Weableau, Missouri, Justin O'Brien of Billings, Montana, and Amber (Bobby) Knight of Lathrop, Missouri; her step son, Dustin Parker of Hawthorne, California; her former daughter in law, Shawna O'Brien of Barnard, Missouri; her sisters in law Janice (Richard) Male of Spotsylvania, Virginia, and Melody Hall of Spring Valley, California; six grandchildren-Stephanie, Madison, Alexis, Payton, Brooklyn, and Michael; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
A celebration of Jackie's life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to gather and honor her remarkable legacy of service, devotion, and love.
