Obituary published on Legacy.com by St. John's Family Funeral Home & Crematory on Mar. 5, 2026.
Jackson Verdell Green, a lifelong Floridian and entrepreneur, passed away peacefully on 2/17/26 at age 88 in St. Augustine, Florida.

Born in Fort Pierce, Florida, to Andrew Jackson Green and Ruby Delilah Wildman Green, Jackson was the oldest of several siblings. He grew up in Florida, developing a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit that would define his career.

He owned and operated Bel Aire Carpet Cleaning, served as a Realtor and superintendent for Arnold May Builders-where he oversaw the construction of high-rise buildings-and later founded his own hurricane and aluminum shutter company in Palm Beach. In his later years, he worked in deliveries for Grumman in Jacksonville, Florida. From 1975 until 2004, he made his home in West Palm Beach before relocating to St. Augustine, where he spent his final years.

Jackson was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Doris; four brothers: (Paul and Mavis, deceased), (George deceased) and Nancy, (Steve and Judy, deceased), and Bethel Eddie and Kim (deceased); one sister, (Christine and John Ross, deceased); and many nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his four children from his marriage to Doris: Debbie (Thomas, deceased) Freeman, Denise (Derrick) Ritter, Danny (Jennifer) Green, and Dennis (Jackie) Green; eight grandchildren; and more than 18 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister in law Nancy Green and brother Bethel Eddie, along with many extended family members.
