JACKSON SHELTON Obituary

Jackson Daniel Shelton, 25, of Imperial, California lost his life to a tragic accident on January 8, 2026. Everybody that knew Jackson knew what a total goofball he was. He loved to make people laugh or get a reaction by doing something they wouldn't expect.
Jackson graduated from Imperial High School in 2018, attended IVC, while working at the fairgrounds for two seasons, then started working at Walmart in San Diego and then Brawley before his job at Pistol Pete's where he was currently employed.
Jackson was a very caring, kind and thoughtful young man. He always said, "Bye, I love you" to his mom and grandmere anytime he left the house. He would always come out wearing his socks with flip flops to bring in the trash cans from the road or groceries from the car. Whenever someone gave him a ride he always made sure to offer them gas money.
He loved to go fishing or skateboarding with his best friend Jacob, or to hang out with his friends and go bowling or out to eat. A lot of times that meant going to In n Out and making everyone wear the paper hats they give out. Jackson would also spend a lot of his time hanging out in the garage with his friends watching tv or playing on his PS5. When he wasn't at home, he liked taking his 4Runner out off-roading and usually end up getting it stuck thinking he could make it out. There was definitely a few calls made by him about helping to tow or dig him out (usually late at night of course).
Jackson was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vernon "Papa" and Jean Shelton, and Grandpa J, Gary "Gold-D" Jackson who he was named after and had a special bond with and really looked up to.
He is survived by his beloved parents, Daniel and Stacy Shelton, sister, Madison Shelton, grandmother, Marcia "Grandmere" Driskill, and his dog, Rhedd whom he loved dearly, along with extended family, and numerous friends that will cherish the time they had with him.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 6-9 p.m., at Frye Chapel in Imperial. Memorial services will be held at Valley Christian Church in Imperial, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 9 a.m. Burial service immediately following at Evergreen Cemetery. Luncheon at Veterans Memorial Hall in Imperial immediately following the Graveside service, everyone is welcome to attend.

My best memory is when Danny and Stacy found out they were having a boy and their extreme joy. My heart and prayers go out to them as their loss is so very devastating and hard to process. God is in control now and forever. May they all find peace in the arms of their Lord.

I love you Jackson. You were such a light to this world. I´m glad our lives in life crossed paths. I´ll always think of you and miss you. Especially when I tinker on the truck or see a kid play with their dog. Thank you for blessing all of us with your big heart and caring loving smile.
