Jacky Lea Joumo
Jun 6, 2014 - Aug 14, 2024
It is with profound sorrow and deep respect that we announce the passing of our beloved child, Jacky Lea Joumo, who was called to the ancestors on August 14, 2024, at the tender age of 10. Born on June 6, 2014, Jacky Lea was a cherished daughter, sister, granddaughter, and member of the royal lineage of Fokoué.
Jacky Lea brought immense joy and light to all who knew her. She was the beloved sister of Eva Lynn Tamegang, age 8, and Victoria Kaylee Mechemeza, age 3, who will forever hold her memory close in their hearts. As the granddaughter of His Majesty, the King of Fokoué, and descendent of the esteemed Tamegant Marie Andree and the late Mr. Nzagaha on her maternal side, as well as Jacqueline Joumo and Gabriel Nkueffouet on her paternal side, Jacky Lea was deeply rooted in the noble traditions and values of our people.
Her bright spirit shone brightly among her many other family members and friends, the Princes and Princesses of Fokoué, and her 4th-grade classmates at Monocacy Elementary School in Frederick, MD. Jacky Lea’s kindness, laughter, and boundless curiosity touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, 11:00 a.m, at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 8428 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. Following the Mass, Jacky Lea will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 515 S Market St, Frederick, MD 21701.
As we mourn the loss of our precious child, we take solace in the knowledge that Jacky Lea’s spirit now rests among our revered ancestors, embraced by their eternal love and protection. We invite all who knew her to join us in celebrating her life and paying tribute to the brief but beautiful time she spent with us.
May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory continue to guide and inspire us all. Hugs in memory.
