Jacob Jon Anderson was born on June 29, 1985, to Steve and Pamela (Dreher) Anderson in Litchfield, MN. The family moved to Alexandria in 1986, and Jacob attended school in Alexandria. Jacob worked at the Depot starting as a dishwasher and worked his way up to being the kitchen and catering manager. He worked at the Depot for 17 years and many of the dishes he created are still being used today. Jacob also worked at a variety of different restaurants in the community along with Lake Country Meats.
Jacob found a real passion for food and being creative in the kitchen. He also liked his knives and guns. He had a love for dogs and especially his current dog, Echo. Jacob and Echo spent hours in the back yard playing frisbee, with Echo causing big ruts in the yard. He loved taking Echo out pheasant hunting. Jacob enjoyed playing chess, BMX biking, reading, especially military books, the Minnesota Vikings, and being out on Lake Burgen. Jacob will be remembered for how caring, smart, and compassionate he was, along with his distinctive laugh. Most important to Jacob, was generosity; he was selfless in opening up his home to others, helping them get back on their feet. One of his proudest moments was being a godfather to Carter Mason.
Jacob died unexpectedly from natural causes at his home on Friday, March 12, 2021, at the age of 35. He is survived by his parents, Steve and Pamela Anderson of Alexandria; brother, Justin Anderson of Madison, WI; grandmother, Shirley Anderson of Bloomington; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; significant other, Rachel Hubbling of Alexandria; and many friends. Jacob is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Myron Anderson; maternal grandparents, David and Irene Dreher; uncles, Robert, Thomas and Steven Dreher.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at the Anderson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at the Anderson Funeral Home and for one prior to the service.
