Jacob J. Carroll, 42, of Rockford, passed away unexpectedly on December 5, 2025. He was born on December 10, 1982, in Aurora, Illinois, the son of Dennis and Marjorie (Mahan) Carroll. He graduated from Boylan Catholic High School, class of 2001. He was a quiet, private person who found comfort in playing video games and spending time with his family, especially his parents and son.
He is survived by his son, Reese Carroll; brothers, Mark (Gwen) Carroll and Paul (Rachel) Carroll; nephews, Cameron Carroll, Caleb Carroll, Cody Carroll, and Gavin Carroll; and aunts, Rosie (Terry) Olszewski and Leslie Mahan. He is predeceased by his parents and uncle, Steve Mahan.
A visitation will be on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Please share memories and condolences online at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
