IBEW Member, Engineer & Electrical Designer, East Brunswick Civic Leader, Loving Family Man With Deep Loyalty to Israel, 94
JACOB "JACK" FEIGENBAUM of Monroe Township NJ passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at home. He was 94 years old.
He was born in Brooklyn, New York, on March 5, 1931, to Isidore and Bertha Feigenbaum. Jack graduated from Boys' High School in Brooklyn before going to work as a foreman, superintendent, estimator, and project engineer in the New York electrical industry. He served as a field engineer and electrical designer for AT&T Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies, and Bell Communications Research, working on landmarks including Madison Square Garden and the World Trade Center. He was also a 55-year member of Local Union #3, of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Jack was devoted to his faith, his community, and the State of Israel. He was a 30-year member of East Brunswick Jewish Center, where he was a regular service-goer. He previously served on the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Congregation of Concordia, now Congregation Beit Shalom. Jack delivered Meals on Wheels for Jewish Family Service to those in need into his 90s. He also was a founder and leader of the Yiddish Readers Group of Greenbriar. Prior to moving to Monroe Township, Jack served on the East Brunswick Arts and Recreation Commission and was past president of the Indian Head North Civic Association in East Brunswick. A lifelong supporter of Israel, he volunteered repairing equipment on a military base for the Israel Defense Forces.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 54 years Phyllis (neé Mark), and his sister Helen Goldman, and is survived by his daughters, Arlene Lewis (Michael) of Medford, N.J., Joy Kaplan (Steven) of New York City, and Marjorie Ann Morgenroth (Barry) of Howell, N.J. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Adam Lewis; Sara Sideman (David); Daniel Kaplan (Erica); Eric Morgenroth (Robin); Brian Morgenroth (Staci Goldman); and Ethan Kaplan (Christine); and eight great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Noah, and Jonah Sideman; Albert and Leon Kaplan; Miles and Jesse Kaplan; and Maya Morgenroth.
A chapel service will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 12:15 pm, at MOUNT SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPELS, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Interment will follow at Floral Park Cemetery, South Brunswick. For directions, please visit
