Kevin "Jacob" Wade died at his home on February 18, 2023 of natural causes.
Jacob is survived by his loving wife, Kirstie Wade (Heidle) and his precious son, Ezra Kylen. He is also survived by his parents, Lewis and Dayna Wade and sisters Hannah and Katie Wade. Jacob leaves his mother and father-in-law Tobie and William Hubble and brother and sister-in-law Jordan and Madison Webb and son Maverick Webb. His grandparents Larry and Brenda Drgac and Pamela and Skeeter Hubble are also left to mourn his passing. He leaves behind a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that will forever miss him. Jacob was preceded in death by his grandparents A.L. and Gaylon Wade, great-grandparents John and Reba Nelms and niece Aylin May Wade.
Jacob was born in San Angelo, Texas on April 26, 1991 to Lewis Ray and Dayna Wade. He grew up in Runnels County in Miles and Winters, Texas. He loved to go fishing with his Dad and ride his bike with his friends. He had adventures with those friends that continued on into adulthood. He was very fortunate that he had such good friends for so long. Ethan Coffman, Ryan Meyers, Corey Fenwick and later Wil Rodriguez were a huge part of his life. He considered them his brothers. Jacob graduated from Winters High School in 2009 and continued on to graduate in 2012 from Angelo State University with his Bachelors of Business Administration in Management Information Systems.
All through high school Jacob was active in many activities including band, UIL (particularly debate) and robotics. He was successful in all he did but, he was always humble about his achievements. Jacob preferred to be the one that supported his friends or teammates. He was known to be the "strong, silent leader". When he offered his thoughts, people listened, as they knew what he said was well thought out.
During his college years at ASU, Jacob completed an internship at USAA which turned into a job offer, leading to his career there at USSA for the last 10 years. He was part of many projects, some of which took him to other countries to work. Jacob was a faithful mentor and teacher to anyone who needed his support. Jacob made many meaningful relationships with so many coworkers at USAA. His support will truly be missed by his peers.
Jacob met the love of his life, Kirstie Wade (Heidle) in December of 2017. They married December 19, 2020. On June 27, 2022, welcomed the other love of Jacobs life, Ezra Kylen. Jacob's whole world lit up from the moment he and Kirstie connected. He was never happier than he was for the last 5 years. Jacob was a doting "Papa" to little Ezra and the most devoted husband to Kirstie. He loved them both with his entire being. The hole that has been left in Kirstie and Ezra's hearts will be irreparable.
Jacob had many interests. He was a skilled woodworker and found a talent for creating beautiful projects that he often gifted to others. Jacob was a talented barbeque chef and always looked for creative ways to feed his friends and family. He loved to travel and see the unknown and explore the new. Jacob was an avid and skilled gamer. He was a Dungeon Master and led his friends on many adventures. He was also a Game Master for several platforms and communities. His passing will be felt far and wide within the gaming worlds he chose to dwell in. Jacob further collected classic game systems and loved building and collecting complicated Lego sets. Reading and books were very much a part of Jacob's life as well with his favorites being Sci-Fi/Fantasy but history and technical books were also on his radar.
Jacob found a lot of joy and general relation to his life in the Star Wars sagas. He lived his life by including many aspects he found from the Star Wars lore. Kirstie joined him in his love of Star Wars and they incorporated it into their wedding as well as the naming of their son.
There will be a memorial on Friday, February 24 at Mission Park Medical Center, 8332 Fredericksburg Rd, San Antonio TX 78229 at 3PM.
