Jacob Welzmuller, lovingly known as Jackie, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, in Naples, Florida, surrounded by family and loved ones. Born on December 11, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, Jackie was the devoted son of the late Benno and Frieda (Henniger) Welzmuller and the beloved brother of Martin A. Welzmuller, who preceded him in death in 2014. Jackie spent most of his life in Brooklyn, where he developed a lifelong passion for the New York Yankees and New York Jets-a true Brooklyn boy at heart. In 2006, he relocated to Bonita Springs, Florida, to be closer to his brother, continuing the deep familial bond that shaped so much of his life. A talented craftsman, Jackie dedicated his career to creating bronze plaques for monuments and statues around the world. His artistry quietly enriched public spaces and honored history in ways that will endure for generations. Yet perhaps his greatest act of love was the 18 years he spent caring for his mother, Frieda, as she bravely faced dementia. Jackie's selflessness, patience, and unwavering devotion were a reflection of his gentle spirit and profound character. Jackie is survived by his niece, Tammy Eng of New Jersey, her husband Rickey, and their children Rickey and Dylan; and by his nephew, Martin B. Welzmuller, also of New Jersey, his wife Giulia, and their children Gabriella, Brianna, and Giovanni. His legacy lives on in their hearts and in the many stories they will continue to share. Jackie will be laid to rest in Brooklyn, New York, alongside his cherished parents, Benno and Frieda Welzmuller. A memorial service will be held in Bonita Springs, Florida, at a later date to celebrate his life and the love he gave so freely. His passing marks the close of a life defined by loyalty, quiet strength, and deep love of everything Brooklyn. Jackie now joins his brother and parents in eternal peace, reunited with those who went before him. May his memory be a blessing, and may we honor his life by living with the same dignity, devotion, and compassion that he so effortlessly embodied.
