Jacobo Banda Escalante, 55, of Rockdale, went to be with his Heavenly Father, Saturday, November 8th, 2025. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am, Saturday, November 15, at the KC Hall, 655 US-79, Rockdale, with Father John Boiko officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Friday, from 6-7 pm and a Rosary to be recited from 7-8 pm at the KC Hall. After the Rosary the family will be having a traditional wake at the KC Hall and invites anyone to attend.
Jacobo was born on November 28, 1969, In Mexico to Gelasia Escalante Contreras & Antonio Banda Martinez. He married the love of his life Luz Adriana Gonzalez, December 20, 1997. Jacobo was a kind, uplifting & generous person. He loved working around the house, cooking, and going on walks with his dogs. Jacobo loved playing with his grandkids and spending time with his family. He had many friends and always had a positive and humorous attitude. He was always willing to help anybody who asked. He put his heart and soul into what he loved for 25 years and that was feeding the community of Milam County. He would love when anybody would complement his food.
He was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Banda Martinez; grandparents, Anastasia Contreras and Gumercindo Escalante; brother, Gaspar Banda Escalante.
He is survived by his wife, Luz Adriana Banda, of Rockdale; 6 children, Daniel Banda, of Giddings, Leslie Banda and husband, Josh, Natalie Banda, Valeria Banda, Christian Banda, of Rockdale and Jacob Banda Martinez Jr., of Austin; grandchildren, Mia Elena Banda, Javier Eduardo Banda, Jacob Banda Martinez Jr. and Isabella Gwen Banda Martinez; Brothers, Jose Floerncio Banda, Tomas Banda and Jose Jildardo Banda; sisters, Francisca Banda Martinez and Josefina Banda Escalante.
Serving as pallbearers: Lencho Banda, Tomas Banda, Jil Banda, Christian Banda, Daniel Banda, Giovani Banda, Angel Banda and Adiel Moreno.
Jacobo Banda Escalante, de 55 años, de Rockdale, fue llamado a la presencia de su Padre Celestial el sábado 8 de noviembre de 2025. La Misa Funeral se celebrará el sábado 15 de noviembre a las 10 a.m. en el KC Hall, ubicado en 655 US-79, Rockdale, con el Padre John Boiko como oficiador. El entierro se llevará a cabo en el Cementerio Oak Lawn. La familia recibirá a los visitantes el viernes de 6 a 7 p.m., y el Santo Rosario se rezará de 7 a 8 p.m. en el KC Hall. Después del Rosario, la familia tendrá una velación tradicional en el KC Hall e invita a todos a asistir.
Jacobo nació el 28 de noviembre de 1969 en México, hijo de Gelasia Escalante Contreras y Antonio Banda Martínez. Se casó con el amor de su vida, Luz Adriana González, el 20 de diciembre de 1997. Jacobo era una persona amable, alegre y generosa. Le encantaba trabajar en su casa, cocinar y salir a caminar con sus perros. Disfrutaba jugar con sus nietos y pasar tiempo con su familia. Tenía muchos amigos y siempre mantenía una actitud positiva y con buen humor. Siempre estaba dispuesto a ayudar a quien lo necesitara. Dedicó su corazón y alma durante 25 años a lo que más amaba: alimentar a la comunidad del condado de Milam. Le encantaba cuando la gente elogiaba su comida.
Le precedieron en la muerte su padre, Antonio Banda Martínez; sus abuelos, Anastasia Contreras y Gumercindo Escalante; y su hermano, Gaspar Banda Escalante.
Le sobreviven su esposa, Luz Adriana Banda, de Rockdale; sus seis hijos: Daniel Banda, de Giddings; Leslie Banda y su esposo Josh; Natalie Banda; Valeria Banda; y Christian Banda, todos de Rockdale; y Jacob Banda Martínez Jr., de Austin. Sus nietos: Mia Elena Banda, Javier Eduardo Banda, Jacob Banda Martínez Jr. e Isabella Gwen Banda Martínez. Sus hermanos: José Florencio Banda, Tomás Banda y José Jildardo Banda; y sus hermanas: Francisca Banda Martínez y Josefina Banda Escalante.
