Jackie Bridges, a loving mother, proud Grandma, dedicated employee, and compassionate friend, passed away tragically on August 27, 2024, just three days before her 78th birthday. Born in Chicago, IL, Jackie was known for her unwavering work ethic and generous spirit.

After graduating high school, Jackie attended Bartending School, attaining a successful career as a bartender for 32 years. After retiring from bartending, Jackie spent some time working for Value City Furniture as a sales person. She then became a caretaker and had a special gift for helping elderly people. She also worked at Corky's Catering before ultimately finding her place at Home Depot, where she worked as Cashier, earning many accolades and awards such as Cashier of the Year and even catching an occasional thief.

Her dedication extended beyond her workplace, as Jackie was a hardworking single mother to her two children, Larry and Bonnie Bridges whom she loved with all her heart. Always putting others before herself, Jackie was admired for her kindness, fun spirit and sense of humor, and fashionable style. She had a knack for throwing unforgettable parties, especially for New Years, and was an exceptional cook, delighting family and friends with her delicious meals.

Jackie's commitment to helping others knew no bounds. She was known to offer rides to those in need even total strangers at times. Accompany friends to doctor appointments, and assist with grocery shopping. Even buying shoes and clothing for people who did not have much. Volunteered at church all the time whether it be the giving department or ushering or being the coffee lady before service.  Her selflessness and caring nature were evident in all aspects of her life.

Jackie's love for Jesus shone brightly through her active participation in various churches, including Willow Creek Community Church in Barrington, Journey Church in Addison, and U Turn Covenant Church in Northlake. She cherished Billy Graham and loved attending Joyce Meyer Ministries conferences, bible studies, and women's retreats, finding solace and community in her faith.

In addition to her loving children, Larry and Bonnie Bridges, Jackie is survived by her two cherished granddaughters, Hannah Grace and Abigail Grace; her dearest siblings, Sara (Tom) Davis, Marlyne (Lou) Tarullo, Joanne (Theodore) Alt and Richard Strudeman and siblings in law, Ron (Vicki) Bridges; her treasured nieces and nephews, Melody, Tamra, Tom and Kim Davis, John, Theresa, Ann and Gina Tarullo, Bonnie, Ted and Jacqueline Alt and Debbie, Mark, Karen and Christina Bridges; as well as many great nieces and nephews.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Leona DuMez and her former husbands, Larry Lee Bridges and Salvatore Scopa.

Out of respect for my mother please don't wear black. It's a celebration of life. Wear something colorful or a floral pattern something bright and cheery. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until time of Celebration of Life service at 6:30 p.m. with a continued Memorial Gathering to follow until 8:00 p.m. at Willow Creek Community Church, 67 Algonquin Road, Entrance B, South Barrington. Interment private.

In honor of Jackie's memory, memorial contributions may be made to U Turn Covenant Church www.myuturn.org or Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls www.buckner.org and her favorite preacher and man of God, Billy Graham www.billygraham.org, causes that were dear to her heart.

Though Jackie may no longer be with us, her spirit of generosity, kindness, and love will forever be remembered by all whose lives she touched and she will be deeply missed.
