Jacqueline Cammuse Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery - Nashville on Feb. 12, 2026.
Jacqueline "Jackie" Cammuse was a loving light, spreading warmth and care to all she met as she never met a stranger. She journeyed through her childhood in TN, traveled and relocated to FL as she joined the Navy, returned to TN to care for her parents and finished her journey in NC as a beach bum. She was born in Nashville, TN on September 22, 1951 and was born to eternal life on January 29, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents Calvin Arthur and Gladace Virginia Cammuse, and Jerry Cammuse, brother. She is survived by nieces, a nephew-in-law and beloved family-by-choice who loved her unconditionally.

Jackie loved Jesus and had a strong faith. She enjoyed worshipping the Lord with Becky, Lisa and her church family at Charity Baptist Church in Kannapolis, NC. She was grateful for the pastors, deacons, and others who prayed for and with her during her hospitalizations and health decline. She loved the Worthy women's conferences and dressing up for the themed programming, especially when she could wear her hot pink jacket with her dazzled jeans.

Jacqueline graduated high school in Madison, TN then joined the US Navy where she was stationed in Pensacola, FL. She served eight years active duty followed by two years reserves. She served as a Production Clerk and Supervisor. Following her honorable discharge, she continued her career as a Production Clerk Supervisor for the Navy and Defense Logistics Agency until she retired in 1999. Jackie was proud of her military service, her work in/for the Navy and enjoyed sharing her experiences. She received many awards throughout her career to include an Expert Pistol Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation (to include a lapel pin), and numerous Special Achievement Awards with Outstanding Performance Ratings. She completed various training programs in community colleges.

Jackie loved traveling with her nieces Becky and Amber and her friend Lisa, especially to the beach. She relocated to NC in 2017 and found peace in her home, enjoying her beautiful backyard with her dogs Daisy and Duke. She loved fishing, reading, puzzle books/games, music and singing, and playing cards with Lisa and their golden girls card group.

Her family would like to thank Charity for being her church family, for prayers, and for support. A special thanks goes to Dr. Mona Sinno, who welcomed her to the Salisbury VA and provided support from enrollment through her final days, with compassion and exemplary care. The family would also like to thank the inpatient medicine, rehab and hospice staff that supported Jackie and her family through the years.

Per Jacqueline's request, her funeral will be private. There will be a Celebration of Life in NC at a later time.
