Jacqueline "Jackie" Atchison Drew died peacefully at home on January 11, 2026. A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church on Monday, January 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with a reception for friends and family following the service in Randall Hall.
Jackie was born on March 2, 1929, in Birmingham, Alabama, where she attended Ramsey High School and was affectionately known to family and friends as "Baby Sister." She graduated from Chevy Chase Junior College and the University of Alabama. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and remained active in the organization for many years.
After her marriage to Robert Avon Drew, she moved to Tuscaloosa, where she was a member of the Junior League and several study clubs. She was a faithful member of Christ Episcopal Church, where she taught Sunday school, served as a hostess, was a member of the Altar Guild, and volunteered with the Lazarus Ministry.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Lee Tyler Atchison Dillon andHubert Seth Atchison; and her brother, Hubert Seth Atchison, Jr. She is survived by her threechildren, Elizabeth Drew Hanninen (Paavo), Robert Avon Drew, Jr. (Jane), and Katherine Drew House (Jim); grandchildren, Lee Tyler Hope Dixon (Tad), Steven Alan Hope, Sarah Drew McKee (Harley), Emily Atchison Drew, Emmett James House, IV, and Olivia Drew House, Amanda Friend Hanninen (Brian), Paavo Vilho Hanninen III (Hayley), and John Andrews Hanninen; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Drew Dixon and Onni Sampson Hanninen.
