James graduated from high school in Gadsden, Alabama and went to college at the University of Alabama, where he received his degree in mechanical engineering, and met his beautiful wife, Janet. James enjoyed a long and productive career in mechanical engineering working for various paper manufactures including Gulf State Paper (Tuscaloosa, Al.), St. Regis (Jacksonville, Fl. and Pensacola, Fl.), Georgia Kraft (Macon, GA) and Inland Container/ International Paper (Rome, Ga.) James Lewis or to many of his dear friends, “Jimmy Lee”, was adored by anyone that was fortunate enough to spend any time with him or to hear his stories that would create so much joy and laughter. He had an infectious smile and had a magnanimous and giving spirit. I know I was blessed to call him my father! He will be greatly missed, but now we take comfort in the fact that he is finally at peace.
