Jacqueline Louise Johnson, age 65, passed away February 5, 2022 in Iowa City, Iowa.
Jacqueline was born December 20, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Charlie and Marie (Harris) Johnson. Jacqueline had a kind and generous personality and wouldn't hesitate to give you the shirt off of her back. She could also be snappy. She was one who wasn't afraid to speak her mind and she didn't bite her tongue. She loved music, dancing and enjoyed spending time at the casino. Most of all, her family was her life. Her memory and legacy will be carried on by all those that love her. She will be missed by family of the community.
Jacqueline's family include her beloved children, Contina (Charles Mills) Henderson, Antron (Sonia) Henderson, James Franzer, Kelley Mallette and Kevin Mallette; grandchildren, Kanya, Jasmine, Anteanna, Antron, Arturio, Valentino, Jameo, A'neya, Chasity, Charles, Kevin Jr., Ka'Miya, Amari, Ka'Nyla, Ky'Van and Ka'Zya; fourteen great grandchildren; siblings, Shelia Johnson, Sandra Johnson, LaSharon Johnson, Joseph Johnson and Anthony Johnson; god daughters, Erica Hunt, Kenya Pitts; friends, 2Pac, Miss Gladys and her play husband, Terrance Brown; best friend, Larry; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Sadly, Jacqueline is preceded in death by her siblings, Tracey Johnson and Marilyn Johnson; granddaughter, Journe'i and her parents, Charlie and Marie.
Jacqueline's family will receive guests at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation (2720 Muscatine Avenue, Iowa City) on Saturday, February 19, from 11-12 pm, followed by a service at 12 pm, also at the funeral home. Jacqueline will be laid to rest at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City.
Please continue to keep Jacqueline's family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
