Jacqueline Michele (nee Barry) Lowry, born May 31, 1947, in Rensselaer, Indiana, to Mildred and John Barry, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024. Jackie, as she was lovingly known, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Jackie graduated from Crown Point High School in 1967 and married Jerry Milton Lowry on October 4, 1969, in Cedar Lake, Indiana. The couple settled in DeMotte, Indiana, in 1972, where they raised their family. Jackie was the proud mother of two children: Mary Jo Lowry (Greg Mickelson), and James Michael Lowry, who preceded her in death in 2019.
Throughout her life, Jackie worked as a secretary, preschool teacher, and server, and she was deeply committed to numerous volunteer roles. Her genuine love for helping others and her warm, caring nature touched everyone she met.
Jackie is survived by her husband Jerry, her daughter: Mary Jo Mickelson, grandchildren: Emily Barkowski and Thomas Barkowski, as well as two great grandchildren: Mason and Levi. Along with many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Per Jackie's request, a formal memorial service will not be held at this time.
