Jacqueline Carmela Manuel, affectionately known as Jackie, was born on April 23, 1962 to the union of Gene and Ella M. Manuel (Hanes), in Chicago IL. Jackie was educated in the Chicago educational system having attended Charles W. Earle Elementary School and later Gage Park High School. Jackie was a member of the cheerleading and pep teams. She enjoyed dancing and roller skating. Many an evening was spent at the Markham roller rink with friends. She also loved watching movies, sometimes the same ones over and over again like she was seeing them for the first time. She liked playing cards and board games. Jackie received Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. Ulysses Wright at Faith Temple Baptist Church, Chicago, IL. In January of 1991, Jackie gave birth to her one and only child, a son she named Aaron. He truly was her world. Shortly after he was born she relocated to Denver, CO. A few years later she relocated again to West Lafayette, IN where she worked in retail until the travel bug bit again and she traveled to Stockton, CA where she joined her brother Gene. She continued working in retail during this time. After a long period of time, Jackie along with her son relocated once again to the Springfield, MO area. After some time she started having serious health issues. In September of 2024 Jackie joined her son in Oklahoma. Her health took declined over a length of time and she was placed in the care of the South Pointe Nursing Facility in Oklahoma City, OK. She departed this life on December 22, 2025. Jackie was proceeded in death by her parents, two sisters, Ella Louise (Peggy) McShane and Cameo Manuel, also two brothers Gene and Derrick Manuel. She leaves to cherish her life her son Aaron. Sisters Regina McShane and Patrice Hanes, both of Springfield, MO. A sister, Krystal Manuel McIntosh (Lyn), and a brother Tracy Manuel, both of Chicago, IL. And an aunt, Jettie Rogers who currently resides in West Virginia. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she's made along her journey.
