Born on January 31, 1962, in Flint, Michigan, she was the cherished daughter of John and Barbara (Blom) Juarez. Jacqueline, known to her loved ones as Jackie, was a beacon of love and faith throughout her life.
Jackie's journey began in Flint, but her heart found its home in Laingsburg, where she and her beloved husband Adam McCaughna built a life together filled with joy and companionship. Their love story commenced amidst the corridors of AAA Insurance in Owosso, where they first met as co-workers. The couple exchanged wedding vows at the Michigan State University Alumni Chapel on a winter day, February 2, 1991, and have since been inseparable.
As a dedicated wife and mother, Jackie's family was the center of her universe, she even left her employment to be a mom to Sabrina and Andrew. She is survived by her devoted parents, John and Barbara; her loving husband, Adam; their two children, Sabrina (Landen) Hurst and Andrew McCaughna; her caring sister, Karen Juarez; and her playful canine companion, Dory.
Jackie's nurturing spirit extended beyond her family as she pursued a career in nursing. With a degree from Lansing Community College earned in 2007, she served the community at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing and Ovid Healthcare and Rehab to name a few. Known for her compassionate and exceptional care, Jackie touched the lives of countless patients before retiring in 2020. Her courage and dedication to others were evident in every aspect of her work.
Her faith played a significant role in her life. As a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, she deepened her spirituality and formed lasting friendships. Jackie's faith-filled nature provided strength and comfort to all who knew her, and she lived by example, spreading love and kindness wherever she went.
Jackie's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. She found solace in the simple pleasures of life: watching classic black and white movies, nurturing her vegetable garden and flowers, and preparing delectable meals for her family and friends. Her exceptional cooking skills were a testament to her strong family upbringing, as she effortlessly whipped up culinary delights with "a little dash of this and a little dash of that."
In her earlier years, Jackie and Adam shared a passion for travel, exploring new places together and creating memories that would last a lifetime. Later, her love for all pets, especially her dog Dori, brought additional joy and companionship into her life.
Those who knew Jackie would describe her as loving, courageous, and deeply faith-filled. She lived her life with a gracious heart and an unwavering spirit, inspiring those around her to embrace each day with gratitude and hope. Her memory will continue to light the way for her family and friends, as they remember her with fondness and carry forward the lessons of compassion and resilience she embodied so beautifully.
