Gilbert McCaughna Obituary
Swartz Creek
Age 92, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023. Per Mac's request cremation has taken place and no service will be held. Mac was born August 20, 1931 in Bay City, the son of Arthur D. and Rose Louise (Randall) McCaughna. He was a 1949 graduate of St. Michael Catholic High School in Flint and he attended Marietta College in Marietta, OH. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. He married Audrey L. Hall May 17, 1958 in Flint and she preceded him in death August 26, 2015. Mac retired from General Motors as a accountant. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family. Surviving are: his children, Daniel (Linda) McCaughna of Goodrich, Jennifer McCaughna of Battle Creek, Adam (Jackie) McCaughna of Laingsburg, Lara (Jeff) Boggs of Davison and David (Anna) McCaughna of Okemos; grandchildren, Ryan, Katie, MiKayla, Sabrina, Andy, Michael, Nick, Hoyt, Toula, Theia, Issa and Kella; great grandchildren, Stetson and Summer. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Rose McCaughna; and sister, Cora Miller. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.

Gil was a senior accountant at Buick's Factory Accounting. I worked with him for one year. Gil was always cool under fire and he led the office especially at close out. I respected him as a man and as a professional.

McCaughna's were our next door neighbors in Fenton. I remember them, Danny and Jennifer were just young children at the time. The children played with my younger siblings and I babysat them, a few times. They were wonderful neighbors. We saw Gilbert and Audry a few times after they moved. But we all lost track of each other. RIP
