Jacqueline Parker Sigmund Lenehan

Jacqueline ('Jackie') Parker Sigmund Lenehan passed away on May 16, 2025 after a short illness. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, September 18, 1940 to Edith M. and Jack O. Parker of San Antonio, TX. The family, including younger sister Pamela, moved about with Jack's career in the FBI. Jackie married M.Sgt. George L. Sigmund in 1958 and the couple welcomed 4 daughters and 1 son before George succumbed to lung cancer in 1969. Jackie returned to school and earned her BA in Education, Social Work, and her Masters in Social Work. She met and married George W. Lenehan in 1973. The couple added 2 more daughters to the family. They worked in Texas, Alaska, and Illinois before settling in Wichita Falls, TX in 2001. George died suddenly in 2003 and Jackie carried on, working with CPS until she retired in 2006. Jackie enjoyed long drives with George, toddies by the fire at the ski lodge in Estes Park, CO., reading, family gatherings, and lunching with friends. She was an excellent cook, a fine seamstress and loved singing with the church choir at Park Place Christian Church. Jackie was a long-time member of the church, participating in Bible studies, retreats and community activities.
Jackie was predeceased by her parents, 2 husbands and their parents. She is survived by her sister Pamela Parker, daughters Tracy Shepherd (Michael), Maryanne Sigmund (Craig Cook), Caroline Wiatrek (Richard), Katherine Moore (James), Jessica Lenehan Teige, Kelly Waye (Clinton) and son Lawrence Sigmund (Misty); sister-in-law Julie Bailey (William) and nieces Jennifer Watson (Douglas), Katie Grahmann (Scott); 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Park Place Christian Church 4400 Call Field Rd, Wichita Falls, TX 76308 on Monday May 19th @ 1pm.
Interment of ashes will be held Thursday May 22nd at 1pm at Alamo Heights Methodist Church, 825 Basse Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
