Jacqueline (Jackie) Ann Phillips, born July 23, 1932, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Friday, March 22, 2024, surrounded by her adoring family. She was 91 years old.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Louis (Lou) Phillips, infant son Joseph Phillips, mother, Julia Masticola, father, John Masticola, and younger brother, James Masticola.
Jackie graduated from Ursuline High school and worked for Louisville Credit Men's Association until she married the love of her life on July 7, 1956. Jackie and Lou had that rare, old-fashioned devotion that endured decades of adversity and merriment, and daily doses of both the extraordinary and mundane.
Jackie raised two daughters with the signature generosity of spirit with which she volunteered for St. Joseph Children's Home, was a partner in her brother's businesses, practiced unwavering support of her entire extended family, worked the school lunchroom, sewed and mended dozens of dresses, costumes, and school uniforms, and gave freely of her time and unlimited attention to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jackie is survived by her two daughters, Carol Pautsch (Robert) and Julie Baker; six grandchildren, Jude and Gabriel Baker; Kelsey Pautsch, Jordan Pautsch (Tyler Domeny), Abigail Thacker (Calvin), and Tyler Pautsch; and three great-grandchildren, Milo and Juniper Thacker and Atlas Domeny. She is also survived by six nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass will be held at 10am Wednesday, March 27 at St. Leonard Catholic Church, 440 Zorn Avenue. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews. Please come prepared with your most adoring Jackie stories. We know they are countless.
