Jacqueline Smith Presnell, 91, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at her daughter’s residence.
A native of Marion, she was born October 7, 1932 to the late Reuben Smith and Dolly Lewis Smith.
Jackie retired from the McDowell Hospital where she worked in housekeeping after nearly 20 years of service. She thoroughly loved worshipping the Lord at the First Christian Church in Marion. Jackie loved to travel when she was able, and she had a heart for children. Her own children and grandchildren meant the world to her. Jackie also enjoyed cooking and working outside with her flowers.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband who she married in 1949, Kenneth Lee Presnell, Sr.; four children, Jane Parker, Kenneth Presnell, Jr., Martha Patterson, and Jimmy Presnell; seven grandchildren, Richard, Jennifer, Rachael, Tracie, Jessica, Nisha, and Lee “Tater”; one great grandchild, Faith; and two siblings, Marie Edge and Gilbert Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Wanda McNeill and Teresa Goode; five grandchildren, Brandy, Skip, Crystal, Chad, and Daniel; eleven great grandchildren, Chloe, Gabe, Marissa, Bree, Wyatt, Reagyn, Lilli, Skylar, Trapper, Nevaeh, and Nehemiah; three great great grandchildren, Zachary, Shiloh, and Hazel; and two siblings, Mary Smith and Ruby Rigby.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Don Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m.
