Jacqueline F. Preston, age 85 of Delaware, passed away on Thursday, August 7th, 2025, at Delaware Court following a recent decline in health.
She was born on May 30, 1940, in Delaware County to the late Clarence and Pauline (Stiffler) Fulton. In 1971, she married William "Bill" Preston, and together they shared 36 wonderful years, until his sad passing on December 25, 2007.
Jacqueline retired from Ohio Wesleyan University, where she worked as a custodian. She was a devoted member of Christ the King Church. With a passion to serve, she enjoyed crocheting and knitting clothing and blankets for children in need. She also took pleasure in working in her flower garden and doing beadwork. Jacqueline will be remembered for her giving heart and always surprising people with cards, flowers, and candy. She was loved by many and will indeed be missed.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Marjorie Ann Hubbard of Delaware, Peggie Sue Parkinson of Columbus; grandchildren: Billy Helbert, Nathen Parkinson, Melissa (Mike) Shoults, and Melanie Parkinson; great-grandchildren: Katelyn (Michael) Parkinson and Johnathan Shoults, three great-great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Jack Stonewall Hudson of Marengo, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her beloved husband Bill and her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sons-in-law: Odell Chafins and Jack Parkinson, as well as her brothers, Clarence Fulton Jr. and Robert Fulton, and sisters, Ruth Hudson and Sadie Crump.
Friends may call Monday, August 18th, from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Snyder Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Dr. at W. William St., Delaware, Ohio 43015, where services will follow Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Andy Freeman officiating. Burial will take place next to her husband at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Humane Society of Delaware County, 4920 S.R. 37, Delaware, OH 43015.
