Jacqueline A. (Amer) Rhodes, 88
Longtime Tewksbury resident, Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother
Jacqueline A. (Amer) Rhodes, age 88, a resident of Tewksbury for the past 50 years, formerly of Fitchburg, MA, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025.
She was the beloved wife of J. Robert Rhodes, with whom she would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on August 3.
Born in Fitchburg, on January 19, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Amer and the late Amanda S. (Isomaki) Amer. She was raised in Fitchburg and graduated from Fitchburg High School before attending Mount Ida College, where she earned an associate degree and began her career in the medical field. Jacquleine worked for several area hospitals as a dedicated phlebotomist until her retirement.
Outside her professional life, Jacquleine found joy in the simple pleasure of painting and knitting- pastimes that reflected her creativity, patience, and love of beauty. She was also a devoted homemaker who cherished time spent with family and friends.
In addition to her loving husband, Jacquleine is survived by two daughters, Kirsten Stanley and her husband Scott Stanley, Stephanie Rusell: her grandchildren, Devon Russell and Benjamin Russell. She is also survived by her cousin, Sharon Makela: her nieces, Sanna Makela and Melissa Tafoya and her husband Adam: her nephews, John Leader and Peter Makela.
In accordance with Jacquelin's wishes and those of her family, no services are planned.
Donations in Jacquelin's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
