A life-long resident of De Pere, Jacqueline "Jackie" Schibly Ryan passed away on Thursday, November 16, in her home with family by her side.
Jackie was born on October 30, 1924, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to the late August and Mabel Reimer. She graduated from East De Pere high school in 1942, and then attended the University of Wisconsin Madison where she received a business degree with a major in statistics in 1946. With WWII continuing, she worked at several jobs while attending classes. Her favorite was the night shift at RMR factory, assembling walkie-talkies for the troops.
In 1946, she married her high school sweetheart, Richard "Dick" T. Schibly and remained in Madison for the first two years of their marriage. Upon returning to Green Bay, Dick began working for the family business, Reimer Meat Products. They were co-founders of the Coterie Dance Club and active members of the Oneida Golf and Riding Club. Sadly, Dick passed away in 1972.
In 1976, Jackie married Robert B. Ryan, and they were together until his passing in 1995. They spent their summers in Door County, WI, and winters in Melbourne, FL, and the pair enjoyed traveling around the world.
Jackie was known for her emphasis on the importance of family and for her deep faith in the Catholic Church. She will be remembered for having the ability to find the beauty in anything, her love of nature and animals, and her endless curiosity. She is survived by her children: Christine Degeneffe (Earl), Katherine Giles, Sue Schibly, Lynn Tomjanovich (Steve), Teresa Visscher (Scott), Phil Schibly (Anne), and Molly Cataldo (Gerry). She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Shirley Phimister, and both her husbands, Richard T. Schibly and Robert B. Ryan.
