Jacqueline Schwengels Obituary
Jacky obtained a BA from Milton College in 1960, and an MLS degree in Library Science from UW-Madison in 1967. She taught English at Tri-County High School in Plainfield from 1960-1963; at Racine High School in Racine from 1963-1965. She then taught at Ozaukee High School in Fredonia, WI. from 1965-1967, during which time she obtained a job as librarian at Craig Senior High School in Janesville, WI. Jacky worked for the Janesville School District for 30 years, spending 15 years at Craig High School and then 15 years at Wilson Elementary School as a Media Specialist. She retired from teaching in June, 1997.
While in college Jacky became affiliated with the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, and remained a member until her death. She joined the Mayflower Society in 2001 and maintained her membership until her death. For most of her life Jacky was a member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Janesville.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 on Monday, October 23,2023 at ST. MATTHEW'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 709 Milton Avenue, Janesville. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Oct 23rd at the CHURCH with Rev. James Janke officiating. Interment will follow in Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
