Her memorial service will be held Saturday, September 13, at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, Huron, with visitation at the church one-hour prior with family present. Her service will be live streamed.

Jacqueline Gay Chipman was born February 12, 1946, in Miller, South Dakota. On December 23, 1962, Jackie married Henry Sievers at Sun Beam Church, north of Vayland, South Dakota. They made their home on the family farm, raising their five children: Chris, Jeff, Dena, Sara and Joe. Jackie was a mom, farm wife, and caregiver. Hank and Jackie retired from farming in 1996 and moved to Huron.

Jackie worked at the Good Samaritan in Miller, South Dakota, and the Center for Independence in Huron, South Dakota. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wessington where she also taught Sunday school for years. She then became a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Huron.

Jackie had a green thumb and generous heart. She loved reading books, watching movies, and collecting angels. During her journey in life, her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Especially her time spent with Grandpa and Grandma Welch in her early years and her grandchildren in later years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Sievers; her parents, Darrell and Phyllis Chipman; her father- and mother-in-law, Draper and Christa Sievers; her brother-in-law, James Sievers; and her sisters-in-law, Betty and Bud Susler and Mary and Tiny Gohring.

She is survived by her devoted children, Christine and Paul Duxbury of Wessington, Jeffery and Brenda Sievers of Wolsey, Dena Sievers of Aberdeen, Sara and Rob Van Roe of Virginia and Joseph Sievers of Wessington; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Jan (Jon) Baum; her brother, Thomas (Laurie) Chipman; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends who knew Jackie, knew pink was her favorite color. As we celebrate her life, the family invites you to wear pink. She will likely be peeking down showing Hank ALL the pretty pink and he will be smiling and nodding his head. Of course, not hearing a darn thing!
