Jacqueline Moreno Solis (Jackie), 50, of Richardson, Texas, died peacefully on July 4, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family. Visitation/Rosary will be on Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Elmwood Funeral Home - Funeral services will be on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent Pallotti Church in Abilene.

Born on November 5, 1974, in Stamford, Texas, to Jesse and Herminia Moreno, Jackie was a woman of remarkable intellect, deep compassion, and unwavering strength. She graduated from Abilene High School and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Hardin-Simmons University. Her pursuit of education and excellence took her further-earning a Master's degree from the University of Houston and ultimately a Juris Doctor from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Jackie practiced as an attorney in both Boston and Dallas. She was an animal lover - especially cats - and devoted resources to causes and organizations that support animal rights. She passed her passion for cats down to her daughter after Georgiana was born.

In 1998, Jackie married the love of her life, Jorge Solis Jr., at St. Vincent Church in Abilene. Their union was one of profound love, partnership, and adventure. Together, they lived, studied and worked in various cities, fashioned numerous friendships, and traveled extensively to historic international cities. Jackie had a deep appreciation for history-especially royal and religious history, which Jackie studied with passion and curiosity.

Jackie had an infectious personality, a radiant smile and a true gift of gab where she could engage in conversation effortlessly with almost anybody. Constantly displaying her trademark beautiful smile, Jackie would turn heads and light up a room when she walked in. Even as her final days approached, her smile never left her. A true extrovert, Jackie had a knack for self-deprecating humor, making people around her comfortable and making them laugh. She would sarcastically describe herself as a "well-adjusted middle child". Friends and colleagues who knew her often described Jackie as a person that you just love to be around.

In 2010, Jackie was diagnosed with breast cancer. Despite the challenges of her illness, she met life with incredible resilience, grace, and an indomitable spirit. She was a realist, never pollyanna, about her battle. Her greatest joy came in the years that followed when she became a mother to her beloved daughter, Georgiana, in 2019. Motherhood was Jackie's proudest and most fulfilling role. She embraced every moment as a stay-at-home mom with love and devotion. And Georgiana gave Jackie a renewed purpose to continue to fight and stay alive for as long as she could. Jackie will be remembered for her brilliant mind, warm heart, love of learning, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her legacy lives on in her family, her friendships, and the countless lives she touched.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Herminia Moreno.

She is survived by her husband, Jorge Solis Jr.; her daughter, Georgiana Solis; her two sisters, Kathryn Leet and husband Tony, and Jessie Fickel and husband Jonathan; her two nephews, Jesse Robert Leet, and Anthony Leet; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
