Jacqueline Kordulak Strimpler, 71, passed away on February 17, 2024 in the Intensive Care Unit of the Jersey Shore University Hospital in Neptune after a year-long battle with cancer. Born in Jersey City, she eventually moved with her family to Belmar in her early teens. She is a graduate of Manasquan High School and took courses at Brookdale Community College, Monmouth College (now university) and Georgian Court University. Her early career was spent working locally for the Navy in the personnel field. She eventually took her talents to Washington D. C. supporting different Navy Organizations, followed by a career move to Philadelphia before landing back in New Jersey as the Training Director for the Naval Weapons Center, Earle. Around 1984 she switched fields and took a position as a Program Analyst for the Naval Air Engineering Center at Lakehurst. She always enjoyed math and working with numbers.
She met the love of her life, Chuck, when she and her colleagues crashed a work-related Christmas Party in 1982. After getting married in 1984, she lived in Forked River and subsequently moved to Manasquan a couple of years after the birth of her daughter, Samantha. She was elected to the Manasquan School board in 1993 and continued serving as an active member of the board for 12 years, always keeping the needs of the student front and center. She was a parishioner of St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church in Sea Girt.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching murder mysteries on television, especially British murder mysteries and engaging in computer video games as well as listening to music from her era. She really liked snorkeling and subsequently got hooked on cruising about 12 years ago, falling in love with the Disney Cruise Line. She was fond of travelling with family especially to the mountains both east and west, Maine, and even as far away as New Zealand. She also enjoyed walking the boardwalks when the weather was nice and looked forward to the periodic trips to Atlantic City with her husband or sisters Connie and Denise. In later years she got into watching and occasionally attending Villanova Basketball games with her husband. She totally cherished spending time with her family as they were the most important thing in her life. Her daughter, Samantha, was always her number one priority. Holiday always became multi-day events which she endorsed and embraced. Despite her Polish/Czech heritage, she was known to enjoy a good single malt Scotch every now and then.
She was predeceased by her parents, Bob and Dolores Kordulak and younger brother Bobby. She is survived by her husband Chuck, daughter and son-in-law Samantha Strimpler and Ian Denholm, sisters Connie and Denise Kordulak, sister-in-law Mary Lusky and nephews Matt and Ryan Lusky. She will also be missed by her grand dog Cooper.
