My condolences to Jackie's family, those I know (her brother, Jon, and cousins Ron (and Arlene) and Kathy; and those I do not know (her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren).
Sixty-nine years is a long time to know a person. From the fourth grade "tomboy" to the elegant woman she became. There were years when our families were young when we didn't see each other. But, always there were the birthday cards and Christmas cards in her distinctive handwriting. And later, our lunches where we'd reminisce and pass around photos or share our cell phone pictures of our expanded families.
I'll miss those cards and notes and lunches, and I'll miss Jackie.
Rest in peace, dear friend.
