Jacquelyn "Jacque" Jean Lay, 73, passed away suddenly on March 20, 2025 at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, KS to be with her heavenly Father.
Jacque graduated from high school in Brandywine, Maryland. She attended Brown Mackie and graduated from Kansas Wesleyan College with a degree in Criminal Justice. She wrote and published a cookbook of 1930's recipes.
Jacque was an avid crocheter and spent many hours making afghans for family and friends. She loved animals and was a "fur mama" to many cats and dogs. She was a member of the First Covenant Church of Salina and enjoyed many Bible study groups over the years. She was a prayer warrior and loved the Lord. Although she had many health issues she maintained a positive attitude.
Jacquelyn is survived by: Son Brad Dietsch of KS; Sister Sue Base and spouse Gary of Niles, KS, Brother Tom Dick of Salina, Grandson Torin Dietsch and Granddaughter Alexa Dietsch of Castle Rock, CO; Nephew Dan Base and spouse Mary Ann of Eudora, KS, Niece Keri Base of Minneapolis, KS, Special Friend Ann McWilliams of Salina and many great Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Son Brian Dietsch and Nephew Tyson Robb.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025, 11:00 AM at Roselawn Memorial Heights Chapel in Salina, KS, with Sr. Pastor Doug McHenry officiating. Burial will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery in Salina, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salina Animal Services; 329 N 2nd St., Salina, KS 67401.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Roselawn Burial and Cremation Services. Online condolences can be sent to www.roselawnsalina.com.
