Jacques Ball Obituary
He was born in Marseille, France to parents Harry and Andree who moved soon after to the US, settling in Seminole, OK. Loud battles between his mother's country music and his grandfather's opera, played full volume throughout the house, drove him to seek quiet refuge of nearby tennis courts. This led to him becoming a tennis champion, where he won the 1965 Tennis Championship and received an offer from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
In his early adult life, he was a Private in the US ARMY, but was later honorably discharged. After the Army he went to the University of Oklahoma and received his Doctorates in Pharmacy which led to him finding his passion caring for veterans as a pharmacist, doing so for over fifty years.
Jacques was a loving, kind-hearted man who would do anything to help his family, friends, and even strangers. He loved to travel and everywhere he went he met new people who became an extended part of his family. He was an accomplished ballroom dancer and true gentleman.
From his mother came his love of jokes and pranks. Family, friends, and peers at the VA all enjoyed his humor. He loved to wear costumes to put a smile on people's faces.
An avid OU football fan, holding season tickets since 1967, his wife Karen graciously scheduled their wedding so he didn't have to miss a game, though he later missed games for his children's weddings.
He is survived by his wife Karen, his children Jacques, Brandi, Monique, Rick and Kim and 12 grandchildren who will miss his love, kindness, and humor.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm Saturday, November 6 at John M Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel in Moore, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Wounded Warriors Project. Please free to wear OU colors. Boomer Sooner!
