JACQUES B. DEJEAN
Our beloved son, Jacques Bernard DeJean (1993-2025) passed away in Westfield, MA on November 25, following a long difficult battle with his mental health and substance abuse. Formerly of Granville, MA and Granby, CT, Jacques graduated from STCC in 2013 as an HVAC systems and sales professional. He was hard working and passionate about his profession, physics, thermodynamics, and energy efficiency. He loved his family, friends, and his dogs, and was a deeply caring soul who would help anyone. He was smart, genuine, funny, insightful, a Little League Baseball phenomenon behind the plate, and passionate about teaching his daughter all he knew. A ringleader who loved to push the limits, he could be counted on to create a little chaos. Jacques is survived by his father, John "JB" DeJean, Jr. of Ludlow, MA his mother, Kathryn DeJean of Westfield, MA his brothers Forrest Ridley of Colchester, CT and Jean-Luc DeJean of Templeton, MA, their partners and spouses, his grandmother Rosemary DeJean of Houston, TX, the true loves of his life, his young daughter Jade Rosemary and her mother Katelyn DeJean of Enfield, CT, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and long-time friends. His funeral will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Episcopal Church of the Atonement, 36 Court Street, Westfield, MA 01085 with calling hours at 10 am and service at 11, followed by a celebration of his life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made payable to The Church of the Atonement with a notation For the Benefit of Jade DeJean.

Yesterday
I was so deeply saddened and shocked yesterday to hear about Jacques´ passing. We worked closely together at an HVAC company and although I didn´t "know" him on a personal level, what I did know of him gave me a warm and comfortable feeling. I would have never thought of him as a ringleader who loved to push the limits and be counted on to create a little chaos. I would have enjoyed seeing that side. The 3 things that were obvious were that he loved and very much appreciated Katelyn, he loved his dogs and he was very passionate about his work. He seemed like such a gentle soul and was so easy to be around. I´m so happy he had his daughter, who is beautiful, but so sad for her loss. Everyone at this workplace feels the same way. He is on a lot of people´s minds and his loss is felt in a lot of hearts and will continue to be felt strongly for some time to come.
Wishing you all the strength, guidance and blessings needed to deal with his loss. You did a great job on his obituary.

Jacques was a coworker of mine a few years back. My sincerest condolences to the family of Jacques. Especially his wife and daughter who he always talked about with so much love. Rest in peace my friend.

When I think of Jacques it brings back happy memories of the kids playing baseball and our trip to Cooperstown.
