Jadian I. Mackenzie

Jadian Mackenzie, 22, of North Franklin, Connecticut, passed away on August 14, 2025, and entered into the loving arms of the Lord.

Jadian was a graduate of New London High School, where he shined both on and off the mat. A gifted athlete, he became a championship wrestler, earning respect not only for his skill but for his determination, sportsmanship, and heart. After graduating, he carried his passion for the sport into the next chapter of his life, giving back as a coach and mentor to young athletes, always encouraging them to believe in themselves the way he did.

Beyond athletics, Jadian loved spending time at The Roughhouse Gym, where he built a community of friends and teammates. His strength, dedication, and work ethic made him a source of inspiration and joy to everyone who knew him.

Jadian's greatest pride, however, was his family. He is survived by his loving mother, Cristy Whalen and his brother Malik Murphy, who meant the world to him. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted aunts, Jane and Ellen, and his uncles, Gary and Jonpaul. His memory will be carried on by his 4 cousins and his 2 second cousins who adored him, as well as countless friends and teammates who will forever cherish his memory. He is also survived by his father Michael Mackenzie of South Carolina.

Jadian's legacy is one of resilience, love, and laughter. He will be remembered for the light he brought into every room, the bonds he created, and the lives he touched through his kindness and mentorship.

A funeral mass for Jadian will be celebrated on Thursday, August 21st at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Church, 32 East Main St. Mystic. A private burial will follow. There are no calling hours.
