Jake Cluff Obituary
Vance Jacob Cluff Jr. (Jake) was born on March 24, 1950, to Alice Hawkins and Vance Jacob Cluff, in Safford. Jake was the only boy in his family, he had 4 sisters. Ginger Owens of Tucson(deceased), Evelyn Babers of York Valley, Colleen Simmons and Julie Morris, of Thatcher.
Jake attended school in Thatcher and Graduated in 1968. He was involved in sports, scouting and school leadership. He loved hunting, fishing, canning fruits and vegetables and spending time with his family.
Jake married Julie Kay Stockton on Sept. 10, 1975. They have been married for 49 years. Jake and Julie lived in Lakeside, Arizona and Blanco, New Mexico where he was involved in the propane business for many years. He was happy to return to the Gila Valley, where he loved working in his garden and raising fruit trees. He truly loved the outdoors.
Surviving are his wife, Julie Kay, his sons, Howard Vance, (Deadra) Joshua Jacob,(Jan), his daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Coelho (Jason), 11 Grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Jake's son, Eric Shawn, and daughters Julie Kay(Infant) and Leslie Jean preceded him in death. Jake passed away, surrounded by his family, after a lengthy illness on Jan 9, 2025, at his daughter's home in Surprise, Arizona. He was 74 years old. He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed. Until we meet again..
A Celebration of Jake's Life will be conducted Saturday morning, January 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at the Temple View Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Brother Brian Payne of the Central Second Ward. Concluding services will follow in the Thatcher Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning, January 18, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., at the Temple View Chapel Relief Society Room of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Those who would like to attend the services via Facebook Live can join on Vining Funeral Home's Facebook page, Saturday morning, January 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. (MST).

Dearest Julie and all of Jake's family,
We were so sad to hear about Jake's passing, though it is comforting to know that he was with those he loved most. He so adored his family, and was grateful for the opportunity to move back to Arizona so he could be surrounded by them. We were blessed to have him here in Farmington for some years, and Andrew especially appreciated his guidance and support when he worked for him as a propane tech. We enjoyed his good humor and peace, and the way he brought a sense of family to the staff. Thank you for letting us borrow him for a while--with love, Andrew and Cynthia Singleton
