Jakob Brian Maners, age 30, a longtime resident of Chewelah, WA passed away on December 4, 2022 in Chewelah. He was born on June 26, 1992 in Chewelah, WA the son of Brian Keith Maners and Noelle Danielle Burgess.
Jakob was raised in Chewelah with his father where he attended school. He was active in wrestling throughout his school years beginning in Mat Cats and then continuing into the Chewelah High School wrestling program. He spent a few summers with his mother in Ephrata working on various farms and spending time with his brother and sisters there. He enjoyed time with family going hunting, camping and fishing and making memories with his 3 brothers at home. Jakob graduated in 2010 and then headed to Williston, ND to begin a life on his own. He worked in the oil fields as an environmental technician doing hazmat for crews after a hitch. As a technician, he ran a crew that cleaned, bedded and prepared the drill sights for refurbishing to their original condition. While in North Dakota, he met Ashley Claycomb. Their love grew quickly and vows were exchanged. They gave life and love to three children, Oaklyn, Maizey and Emmett. Jakob enjoyed the ability to provide well for his family. After facing some struggles with addiction, he and Ashley parted ways and he remained in North Dakota for a time but then ultimately decided to move home to seek refuge and support for help. Suffering from an accident, his struggles grew with the challenges of head trauma. Multiple attempts were made for jobs locally to get back on track. In that time Jakob worked at the tree farm, Zips and had other local work opportunities upon his return home. He longed to share time with his children and loved them with every ounce of his being.
His time as an active and involved father with his children was reflected upon daily. He looked forward to their smiles and the joy that sparkled from their eyes when they saw him. As a young man, Jakob was always able to make friends and make you laugh. His natural sense of humor will always be missed. He could be rough and tough if needed but truly had the most gentle soul that anyone that knew him will always remember. He had a very close group of friends, cousins and his brothers that all packed around together. Making lifelong memories, getting into some trouble, and guiding each other between right and wrong. He had a natural ability to draw. His drawing and small doodles of ink on paper were always enjoyed and will continue to be cherished. Jakob often gave of what little he had to strangers in need or in wonderful acts of kindness.
Jakob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glen Ellis, Robert Maners, and Sandra Maners-Anderson.
Jakob is survived by his three children; Oaklyn, Maizey and Emmett Maners of Williston, ND; parents, Brian Maners (Katy) of Chewelah, WA, Noelle Swisher of WI; siblings, Keith Maners of Bismark, ND, James Maners of Valley, WA, Zachary Maners of Chewelah, WA, Mikayla Williamson of KS, Kody Fenn of Spokane,WA and Kelsie Anderson of Olympia, WA, and a host of extended family.
