Jakob David Hall-Singletary, 19, of Columbus, Ohio, born on May 12, 2005, passed away tragically on March 6, 2025. Jakob was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew him. He was full of joy, always smiling, laughing, and goofing around. His life wasn't always easy, but he never let challenges define him. His strength, resilience, and unwavering kindness were among his greatest qualities.
Jakob had a gift for making people smile and laugh. If he saw someone upset, he would do something silly or say something completely off the wall just to lift their spirits—you couldn’t help but laugh. He was someone you had no choice but to connect with because he was so easy to talk to and love. Everyone in Jakob's life shared a special connection and relationship with him and memories that they'll never forget!
Jakob had a deep passion for cars and spent much of his time working on them. Whether fixing things or going to car meets, he found joy in the automotive world. His dream was to become a mechanic, and he hoped to one day work at Caliber Collision. His dedication to learning and improving his skills was evident to everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Tabitha and Eric Staten; his father, Toby Hall; his sisters, Hailey Hall and Victoria Singletary; and his brother, Kyle Ferguson. He was also a cherished uncle to Kilee and Karlee. His grandparents, Audrey and George Justice and Robin and Danny Staten, held a special place in his heart.
Jakob's extended family includes his aunts and uncles Kristy and James Voelker, April Staten, Daniel (Christina) Staten, Jack Staten, and Robert (Stephanie) Staten. He will also be deeply missed by his cousins Madyson, Nathan, Cory, Joe, Dylon, Carl, and Maddy. He was preceded in death by his beloved great-grandmother, Elizabeth "Nana" Bossert.
A viewing will be held on March 19, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Families First Crematory and Funeral at Edwards, located at 1166 Parsons Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43206. A memorial service will follow from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
