Jalen M. Parker

Jalen Malik Parker's life was marked by purpose, integrity, and love. He was the kind of person who made others feel seen and valued-someone whose quiet strength and warm heart left a lasting impact, and a smile like no other.
Born on April 16, 2001, in Albany, Georgia, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Jalen brought light into the world from the very beginning. His laughter, resilience, and boundless spirit touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. Jalen began his early education in the Dougherty County School System before transferring to Troup County, where he graduated from LaGrange High School in 2019. A gifted student with a deep love for learning and problem-solving, Jalen continued his education at Kennesaw State University, pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, with graduation set for December 2025.
From a young age, Jalen's faith played a central role in his life. He gave his life to Christ at Saint Maryland Missionary Baptist Church of Leary, Georgia, a spiritual foundation that guided him through life with compassion, humility, and strength.
Jalen developed a love for sports early on, but basketball held a special place in his heart. As a proud member of the LaGrange High School Basketball Team, he wore his beloved #3 jersey with pride-playing the game he loved with heart, discipline, and grace.
Jalen departed this life on June 22, 2025, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia He was preceded in death by his grandfather Gary Flowers Sr, grandmother Velma Floyd, and great-grandmother Pearlene Scott.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of his family and friends. He is survived by his devoted mother, Lateria Parker, of Albany, GA, and his father, Dave Parker Jr., of Tampa, FL; his siblings: Javontae Parker, Ja'Leah Parker, and Daniya Parker, all of Albany, GA; Ari Parker of Tampa, FL; and Kai Medina of Kennesaw, GA. Also left to honor his memory are his grandmother Aurelia Flowers of Albany, GA; grandfather Dave Parker Sr.; great-grandmother Dora Flowers of Atlanta GA; uncles Gary Flowers II (Kenshayla) of Atlanta, GA, Xzavian Flowers of Orlando, FL, and Marcus Parker of Tampa, FL; two special nieces/cousins, Kenzie Flowers and Koi Flowers; his beloved and special friend Destiny Green of Atlanta, GA; and a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
Though Jalen's time with us was far too short, the light he shared will never fade. His legacy lives on in the love he gave, the lives he touched, and the memories we will forever hold close.
