James Edward Aston passed away on December 5, 2024 at the age of 85.
James was born in St. Louis County November 13, 1939, son of John and Martha (Heldman) Aston. He later married his loving wife, Esther (Kersting) Aston in June of 1960 at St. Patrick Church in Wentzville, MO. Together they raised six children, Brian, Barry, Maureen, Marita, Sarah, and Alicia.
James was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Josephville, a member of Union Local 32, and Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors playing golf, hunting, fishing, and camping when his children were small, and taking small trips to the lake. In addition, he liked to watch auto racing, play cards, hang out with his friends at "breakfast club," and his love for his dog, Mac.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Aston nee Kersting of Wentzville, Missouri; his six children, Brian (Sherri) Aston of Wentzville, MO, Barry Aston of Wentzville, MO, Maureen Aston of Lampe, MO, Marita (Tim) Bohler of Wright City, MO, Sarah Aston of Wentzville, MO, Alicia (Scott) Verhey of O'Fallon, MO; siblings, Nancy, Shirley, Sharon, Barbara, Cindy, and Patty; grandchildren; Jamie Kelly, Ryan Kelly, Kyle Gielow, Danielle Waldman, Nicole Aston, Katie Bohler, Andrew Bohler, Valarie Gersman, Michael Aston, Lauren Aston, Penelope Verhey, Roman Verhey, Gavin Verhey; great-grandchildren, Kaine, Mason, Autumn, Colton Louzader, Kayla Gray, Kyleigh and Dominic Gielow, Kaleb and Owen Waldman, Logan and McKenzie Gersman.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Aston, mother, Martha Aston nee Heldman, and siblings, John, Martha Ann, and Mary Lou.
