James E. "Peaberry" Austin, age 67, of Logansport, KY passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2024 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. He was born in Morgantown, KY on June 11, 1957. He was a member of Woodbury Baptist Church, employee at Purdue Farms and was a very talented stone mason. Peaberry loved hunting arrowheads and playing cards. He was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Lois Embry Austin and his beloved dog, Roscoe.
Peaberry is survived by his family, Kristie, Charlee (Artisan) and Jamie Austin; brother Bob Austin (Allen); honorary sister, Tonia Simmons; many friends and extended family.
Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2024 at 2:00pm at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and on Sunday, Dec. 29 from 10:00am until 2:00pm at Smith Funeral Home.
