James Eric Austin

Mr. James Eric Austin, age 72, a resident of Auburndale, Florida, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025, at his home. Mr. Austin was born August 14, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Carl Raymond and Alice Elizabeth (Dodson) Austin. He was a resident of Auburndale for 30+ years and graduated from Auburndale High School Class of 1971. He was a retired Commercial Electrician where he worked for Curry Controls of Lakeland. James was a member of the IBEW Union in Tampa and a member of the Florida Trail Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, going to concerts, music, collecting CD's, photography and spending time with family & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother – Raymond Austin and sister – Kathy. James is survived by his nephew – Taylor (Liz) Austin; 3 nieces – Sara (John) Austin, and Stephanie Glass; great nieces & nephews – Abby, Zach, Ben and Laurel; brother in law – Don Glass; sister in law – Janet Austin; special friends – Wayne & Dinah. A memorial service will be held 11am Friday, November 21st at Kersey Funeral Home with a gathering beginning at 10am.
