James M Aycock Jr
February 28, 1949 - July 4, 2025
On the morning of July 4, 2025, Jim passed away peacefully at Wellspan York Hospital in York PA. He was 76 years old.
Jim was born on February 28, 1949 to James M Aycock Sr and Elizabeth Harman, the oldest of two children. Born and raised in Baltimore City, Jim graduated from Baltimore City College in 1967, received his bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 1972, and his master's degree in Public Administration from University of Maryland University College in 1982.
Jim was a career law enforcement officer, serving municipal and state police departments and the federal government. A man of great faith, Jim also served as both a deacon and a priest.
A kind and easy going man, a voracious reader, and a lover of cats, Jim could usually be found with either a mystery paperback or a daily newspaper in his hand and a cat on his lap.
Jim is survived and loved by his brother, Terry; his three children: Jamie (Fran), Greg (Emily), and Natalie (Donte), and his six grandchildren: Avery, Emma, Alex, Paige, Gabriella, and Howard.
The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel on Tuesday, July, 8, 2025 from 9 AM until 10 AM when the prayer service will begin. Interment to follow at St. Mary of the Mills Cemetery.
