Anthony (Tony) Frezza was born in 1932 in Baltimore, Maryland.
He attended Baltimore City College (High School), Loyola College in Baltimore
and graduated in 1953 with a Major in Math. He went in the Air Force as a 2nd Lt. and went to graduate school for Meteorology at Texas A&M. He served as a Meteorologist at Andrews AF Base. After leaving active duty he became a Captain in the reserves. His assignments included Duty Officer at the Weather Station of Andrews Air Force Base, Analyst at the Joint AF, Weather Bureau Weather Facility in Washington and a Special Team of officers that provided weather information for the last Nuclear Tests at Bikini and Eniwetok in the Pacific.
After leaving the Air Force he joined Westinghouse in Baltimore. He was one of the first programers and served for 37 years in their Engineering Department. A few of his assignments include the Navy Radar development for a Frigate Class ship, a Navy Nuclear Submarine project in Hawaii that had Sonar and computing equipment designed to locate a Russian Submarine in very deep water of the Pacific. It was also used later to provide intelligence information on the Russians when it was located to monitor telephone information from cables on the ocean floor near Russia. This was during the Cold War.
During his 34 year he was Engineering Manager for large Air Defense Systems for
Nato in Great Britain and other US military and International projects. He was also Engineering Manager for Weapon Systems to design a Navy Frigate for the Taiwan Navy. His programs also included Air Defense Systems for Korea and Saudi Arabia. He also was Program Manager for International Air Traffic Control Radars and Control Systems for Europe, India, as well as Central and South
America. Countries included were Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Panama, Aruba,
Venezuela and India.
Anthony was predeceased by his first wife of 33 years, Ethel (Deba) Frezza and is survived by his wife of 37 years, Marcia Brandt Malks. Their extended family includes 5 Children, 11 Grandchildren and two Great Grandchild.
