James E. Bailey

James E. Bailey, 77, of Aurora, passed away unexpectedly at home on May 21, 2023.   Born August 8, 1945 in Sherwood, he was a son of the late Dean S. and Gladys (Murray) Bailey. He was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of King Ferry Central School. He served for 32 years as Town of Ledyard Highway Superintendent. Jim was also a 47-year member of the Aurora Fire Department, serving for several of those years as Fire Chief.   He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Faith (Nelson) Bailey; sons Mark (Jamie) and Scott (Judy) Bailey; a sister, Suzanne Stradling; and four grandchildren: Kyle, Ryan, Emma, and Taylor Bailey, with whom he cherished spending his time.   In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Stanley Bailey, Barbara Mann, and Nancy Benicki.   At Jim's request, there are no public services.
