James Dennis Bajerski, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at home surrounded by family on July 28, 2025 at the age of 80. Born on December 3, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, to Stanley and Lucielle (Sprasky) Bajerski. As a small child they moved to the suburbs to a home his dad had built. Jim loved little league the most but also just loved being a kid that lived near a creek.
He met then married the love of his life, Marlene Rendek on September 1, 1968. Together, they built a family founded on love, laughter, and support. Jim was a devoted father to his children, Jay (Tara), John (Nancy), and Jana (Dennis). Because of the love he had for them he never considered the spouses as in-laws. He always told people he had 6 kids. Jim tried to instill in them the values of hard work, compassion, and humor.
The joy in his life multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Emily (Jared), Bryan (Haley), Evan, Nora, Nate, Luke, Sophia, and Malorie. His great-grandson Cooper, completed his life. He cherished every moment spent with them and was a constant source of love and encouragement.
Jim became part of a second family when he joined the Franklin Park Fire Department in 1971. He was there for 31 Years and always found the closeness of his "brothers" to be grounding. He knew they always had his back and hoped they knew he had theirs.
When Jim retired he started spending winters in Florida and took up golf. The camaraderie of his playing partners, and the occasional competitive round, always made him smile. His love for baseball was equally strong, whether he was cheering from the stands or just watching at home with his family.
Those fortunate enough to have known Jim would describe him as loving, funny, and wise. His infectious laughter could lighten any room, and his heartfelt advice was sought by many.
As we bid farewell to Jim, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, marked by unwavering love, a passion for beer, and a spirited sense of humor that inspired everyone around him. His legacy will live on through the lives of his family members and the countless individuals he touched throughout his remarkable journey. Jim's memory will be cherished and honored by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may have left this world, his spirit remains a guiding light for us all.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley & Lucielle Bajerski and his in-laws George and Milly Rendek.
There will be no visitation or services, at Jim's request, but friends and loved ones are encouraged by the family to share memories of Jim at www.justenfh.com.
