James Perry Baker

Mr. James Perry Baker, age 83, of Lindale, GA, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.T. Baker and Helen Kitchens Baker; his brother, Leslie "Bohog" Baker; and his sons, James Michael Baker and James Mark Baker.
Perry is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Carolyn Baker; his son, Steve Baker and wife Peggy; and his daughter, Missy Ferguson and husband Blake. He was a proud grandfather to Heather Clonts, Jenny White and Heath, Zanna Beth Ferguson, and Baker Ferguson, and a great-grandfather to Kadey Clonts, Kami Clonts, Robby White, JJ Hammond, Addy Hammond, Sam Hammond, Jace Hammond, and Ava Hammond. He is also survived by his brother, Mike Baker, and sister, Linda Walker.
An avid outdoorsman, Perry loved fishing, hunting, and spending time in nature. He could often be found on his front porch, enjoying the view and good conversation. Together with his wife, he took great pride in maintaining a beautiful yard and treasured every moment spent with his family-especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in the Chapel at Henderson & sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with his son-in-law, Blake Ferguson, officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2pm until service time at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.
