James Emory Barbaree Sr.

James E. Barbaree, Sr., age 87 of Smyrna, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 4, 2024. James ("Jim") was preceded in death by his beloved wife Midge. He is survived by his sons James Emory Barbaree, Jr. (Suzanne), Mark Crawford Barbaree, Matthew Craig Barbaree (Shelly), brother William Barbaree, sisters Linda Land and Louise Rickett, sister-in-law Patsy Barbaree, grandchildren Shanna Barbaree Owen (Patrick), Andrew Barbaree, Garrett Barbaree, Alex Barbaree (Amanda), Nina Grace Barbaree, great grandchildren Lauryn Smith, Hailee Barbaree, Alaina Barbaree. Jim was a kind soul who devoted his life to his family and friends. His fondest memories were of travelling the country with Midge, his sons, and grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 am to 11 am on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna, followed by the funeral service at 11am. Interment will be at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
