James Barry Obituary
Beloved husband of Vicky L. Barry (née Brewer), whom he married on June 5, 1971, loving father of Troy J. Barry of Plano, IL and Carrie Petrie of Peoria Heights, IL, adored grandfather of Kendall (fiancé, Jessie Oatway) Petrie of Owatonna, MN and Shelby (Uriel Gonzalez) Petrie of Chicago, IL, devoted son of the late Gene and Nellie (née Johnson) Barry, son-in-law of the late Loron Brewer and the late Catherine (the late Philip) Walesky, dear brother of the late Joe, Rose and Mary (infant), brother-in-law of Kevin Brewer, Susan Haog, Debbie Brewer and the late Jim Brewer, fond cousin, uncle, great-uncle and friend of many.
Jim grew up on a farm in Argyle, WI. He moved to Naperville, IL where his parents founded the Dairy Queen at 1002 N. Washington Street. He attended Naperville Community High School (Class of 1968) and served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971.
After his honorable discharge from the Army, Jim helped his parents run Dairy Queen until they sold it in the mid-1980's. He was employed by J.S. Plastics, Inc., Naperville (now Phoenix Closures, Inc.) and later owned and operated Oil Exchange in Aurora, IL. After Jim sold Oil Exchange, he worked in maintenance with the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement.
Jim was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Naperville and was an avid woodworker.
Services will be private.
Future inurnment: Calvary Cemetery, Arygle, WI.
