James Anderson Bason, 91, entered into eternal rest on January 11, 2024 in Live Oak, TX. He is preceded in death by his loving Son, David Bason and Daughter, Penny Leonard.  His parents, George and Frozie Bason. Siblings, Bruce Mathis and Betty Dixon. His nieces, Lavene Yevonne Washington, Deborah Yvonne Watkins and Angela Rezetta Dixon. James is survived by his 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren to honor and cherish his memory. His nephews, Bryan Alexander Mathis ( Tammy), James Alvin Dixon (Alice), Martin Richard Dixon and Lester Earle Dixon. His nieces, Diana Joyce Yellock (Gene), Alyson Rene Mathis-Roberts, Leah Jeanette Mathis- Peay, Evet Wenona Dixon, Frozie Elaine Abbott and Janice Mae Herricks. Also leaving behind his four K9 companions. James was very loved and will be dearly missed.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Celebration of Life starting at 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr., El Paso, TX 79907. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:30 AM on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas. A Graveside will then follow at 1:30 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home- Americas
