Obituary For Mr. James Arthur Belo
Mr. James Arthur Belo was born on March 11, 1938, in Randolph County. He was the son of the late Wade Eugene and Virginia Elizabeth Evans Belo. In life, there comes a time when our earthly body needs rest. This moment came for our beloved on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in High Point, NC at the age of 86.
James attended William Penn High School. For many years, He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where he served as a trustee. James worked for Bodie Tire Company for many years. Later he worked for Leggett and Platt until he retired.
James was a man of few words. He enjoyed fishing and working in the yard. He always had the best yard in the neighborhood. In his leisure time, he loved watching Westerns, The Price Is Right, and Let's Make a Deal. When he was able, he loved to travel
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Hatchett and Marjorie Royal: four brothers, Dennis, Harold, Robert and Phillip Belo.
James leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Joyce Moore Belo of the home; children, LaSandra Sanders (Cleveland), and Gloria Keeye of High Point, NC; Rodney Moore (Theresa ) of Greensboro, NC; two sisters, Carolyn Hicks of High Point, NC; and Hilda Battle (Wilbur) of Trinity, NC; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Belo of Trinity, NC; grandchildren, Corey Sanders (Hanifah) of New Jersey; Verdair Terry (Ryan) of Greensboro, NC; Rashad Sims of Whitsett, NC; Lakia Moore and Alex Moore of Greensboro, NC; great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and his beloved dog, Blip.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
